This summer, I’m teaming up with @Honda to share My State of Adventure, an initiative for you to go out and explore your own state’s backyard. There is adventure everywhere, and diving into what’s close to you can be really rewarding and leave you with an enhanced appreciation for the place you call home. For a chance to be featured in my story, show off your own state of adventure, by tagging me and using #mystateofadventure next time you get out there #HondaPartner
#Ad I suppose I haven’t been hiking enough, because I certainly felt this one on the way up.. though that seems to happen every spring. My legs get some use over the course of winter, but nowhere close to the level that summer demands. Totally worth the initial pain though- backpacking season is my favorite, and being prepared for it makes it all more enjoyable. This summer, I’m teaming up with TINCUP Whiskey to give you a chance to go on a true backcountry adventure of your own, in the Colorado Rockies (with @renan ozturk and company, so rad). All you have to do is follow @tincupwhiskey, share your own tales of adventure using #yourmountainawaits and #Contest and mention @tincupwhiskey in your caption. The entries will be judged by TINCUP’s team of explorers. Super Easy. Cheers, and good luck 🏔 NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous U.S. / D.C., age 21+. Void in AK, HI, outside 48 contiguous U.S./D.C. and where prohibited. Ends 7/11/19. For
Ate lunch here today. Needless to say, I did not want lunch to end..
Fall in Alberta. On the road today, so here are a few throwbacks. From a beautiful couple of weeks in the Rockies (also, my first time in Canada)
A breath of fresh ocean air in Big Sur, California. Southbound today, for a couple of months.. excited to see this place again
Clouds above Portland, Oregon, last night. I find myself turning my eyes upwards quite frequently nowadays. Similar to the ocean, the sky is always moving and changing. And it’s a beauty that can be witnessed anywhere on the planet. I like to think that the sky connects us all, in one way or another. A shared appreciation, a collective dream. It inspires me, you, and everyone on earth. We’ve all stopped to stare at it. Some stop once a month, some stop everyday. Some stop every hour, or minute.. I’m certainly more of the latter.
Been really drawn to photographing the ocean since my trip down south, this past winter. The constant motion, sounds and smells of it all really draw me in. And there are a surprisingly low amount of people that walk on the beaches at sunrise. This particular morning, I was alone. Wasn’t planning on taking photos, just went there to start my morning routine.. but, seems the universe had other plans
Slices of paradise in the Columbia River Gorge.. spring sure is lovely down here
Mount Jefferson, from the slopes of Mount Hood. I spent the last few days exploring the Oregon Cascades. They are quite different from what I’m used to, up in Washington. The landscape is more open and sprawling. The hills roll endlessly and the numerous volcanoes become the focal point. At one point I was able to see eight, from where I stood. The weather was perfect, the birds were singing, and the wind was rustling the trees around me. Honestly can’t believe it took me so long to get a proper feeling of the area.. but now that I know- I’ll be back.
Life on the Road- always a good time. Grateful for all of the beautiful moments like this one.. happens pretty frequently when you’re constantly on the move. Thankful to have @BurtsBees Toothpaste along for the journey- keeping my mouth fresh and clean even while I am away from home. Always enjoy a brand that opts out of artificial flavors and preservatives, strives for sustainability and packages their products mindfully 🐝 #ad #burtsbeestoothpaste #availableattarget
One, or two? I think two appeals more to me. I don’t own a motorcycle but I imagine it’d be pretty exhilarating to ride the Cabrillo Highway. Anyways, I’m headed south soon. Back to California, back to the Sierra Nevada, back to these beautiful coastlines. Very excited to see them in a different season. On that note- I’m having a print sale through Sunday. All proceeds go towards gas, coffee, avocados and hummus to fuel the journey.. my essentials. Use code “southbound” at checkout for 20% off, link in bio. Cheers for the continued support, y’all rule 🌊
